House of Yes is proud to present 2 shows per month where we showcase new talent and emerging acts:

Hot & Fresh Burlesque + Bushwick’s Got Talent

We strive to curate that most diverse line up of performances possible every month. If you don’t get selected for a show, it might just mean that we had another act very similar to yours. Keep applying, keep evolving.

  • Everyone! Aspiring talent is welcome - that’s the whole point of these shows! QTPOC performers are especially encouraged to apply.

    We also welcome established performers to apply if you have a brand new act you’d like to workshop that isn’t quite ready for the big leagues yet.

  • Bushwick’s Got Talent is the first Thursday of the month. Hot & Fresh Burlesque is the 2nd Thursday of the month. See the full show schedule at houseofyes.org/shows

  • This is House of Yes and we are looking to showcase more than the mainstream trope infesting the drag world. We empower you to bring your high energy, high concept, high art! Hidden talents, ridiculous props, puppets, aerial performances, live music, sideshow skills, multi-person acts, audience participation, anything that can take YOU to the next level.

  • All aerial acts must submit a video of your act to assure you’ve had proper training and can perform safely. We review aerial acts thoroughly before approving for our shows.

    Once approved, we have some aerial apparatuses available for loan for showtime only.

    ***ALL BORROWED SET PIECES, AERIAL APPARATUSES, PROPERTY OF HOUSE OF YES, ETC. MUST BE TREATED WITH RESPECT AND RETURNED IN THE SAME CONDITION AS IT WAS LOANED OUT AT THE END OF THE EVENT.***

  • For messy acts, you are required to bring a tarp large enough to protect the stage from the mess. They are about $10 at any hardware store. All mess must be approved by the producer ahead of time!

  • Any kind or use of living animals is prohibited. Fire acts are prohibited at Hot & Fresh Burlesque and Bushwick’s Got Talent.

  • Our full stage is 12'x20' with a 16'x5' runway that jets out into the audience. You may choose to use the full stage, just the runway with the red main stage curtain as a backdrop, or both! Acts that have elaborate sets, large props, aerial, huge messes, or multiple person dance pieces are encouraged use the full stage plus the runway so we may light you beautifully.

  • We have a small dressing room with mirrors and lights you will have access to. You may use it to get ready and prepare for your act.

  • Pay will be tips pooled from the audience that are split equally at the end of the event between all performers. Please stay until the end of the night to collect your tips, or provide your Venmo information to one of the stage managers the night of the event if you must leave early.
