Located in the Lower East Side, House of X is an underground playground, a 400 person dance club and lounge offering an elevated nightlife experience blending world-class music and live performance art that is equal parts intimate and luxurious. House of X invites guests to enjoy immersive art and elevated experiences through our weekly nightlife programming as well as through bespoke bottle service, small private gatherings and fully customized private events.

Job Summary:


We are seeking an ambitious Director of Special Events and Partnerships with 4+ years of experience to lead the sales and production of all special events hosted within the House of X venue, as well as in our other locations as requested. The Director of Special events will  be responsible for all aspects of special event execution, from the development of competitive and creative event packages, to event program development and operations management, to financial forecasting and budget management.They will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with high-level clientele, industry contacts and luxury brands to secure sponsorships and partnerships that can be leveraged for private events and general venue activations and programming. This is a highly collaborative role as The Director of Special Events and Partnerships will work cross-functionally with the entire House of X team to bring these bespoke events to life.   It also requires someone who is highly organized and obsessively detail-oriented, adept at overseeing simultaneous special events while maintaining high levels of positivity and professionalism.


In addition to the special event operations and partnerships responsibilities, the Director of Special Events and Partnerships will have sales and business development responsibilities attached to specific and ambitious revenue goals. This position is suited for an event sales professional who desires to be a part of an emerging sales team with  the ambition and leadership qualities to grow into a Senior Event Director position. A passion for hospitality, nightlife, creative culture, food, beverage and perfectly executed events is a must.

Roles & Responsibilities for Special Events 


  • Solicit new accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals. This will consist of telephone outreach, outside sales calls, site walk-thrus and written communication.
  • Prepare correspondence to clients, including pitches, proposals, agreements, event related documents in addition to upholding clear internal communication.
  • Consult with clients on menu selection, rental requirements and on occasion, venue selection.
  • Consult with clients on creative capabilities of company, including entertainment packages.
  • Collaborate with culinary team in order to custom plan menus and ensure profitability.
  • Participate in weekly sales meeting, BEO meetings and professional training
  • Attend networking events, industry functions and regularly entertain prospective clients.
  • Maintain a professional knowledge of the event landscape, competitive set and strategic pricing.
  • Collaborate with the other operating departments to assure event success.
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude and the characteristics of a team player.
  • Be both self-managed a self-motivated in order to achieve all objectives as set for you
  • Professionally interact with clients, and internal team on-site at events.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key clients to produce repeat business.

Roles & Responsibilities for Partnerships 

  • Identify and secure new business partnership opportunities with firms who want to get their brand(s) in front of our audience
  • Create, refine and harvest ongoing sales material to support sales discussions
  • Negotiate terms, structure relationships, and work closely with the rest of the sales team and operations to launch new partnerships
  • Develop relationships for both the short term and long term goals
  • Create CRM management strategies to help the team monitor partner activity and analyze performance, identify areas of improvement and recommend ways to increase adoption and revenue
  • Design and propose new deal structures consistent with market strategies, deal requirements and financial objectives
  • Construct and help present pitch materials highlighting features and benefits applicable to partners
  • Work closely with the finance team to forecast, measure and report the results of all strategic business partnerships
  • Assess team needs, aid in budgeting, the hiring process and manage your team members over time
  • Work closely with Executive Team on ad-hoc projects

Identify events, both physical and virtual, for relevant teams to attend, sponsor, or partner with.



  • 4+ years experience working in Special Events.
  • Expert copywriting skills with ability to develop and express the House of X voice and style.
  • Strong attention to detail – hyper-organized & highly accurate
  • Proficient in Eventbrite or similar ticketing software
  • Proficient in Email Marketing Clients such as MailChimp
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with tight deadlines and immediate changes.
  • Extremely organized, efficient, detail-oriented and successful at meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Strong relationship management skills—this role will be dealing with a variety of personalities and must always sound informed when representing the company and calm when addressing complex situations

  • Familiar with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within ticketed live events, nightlife culture and hospitality.
  • Skilled in using project management applications such as and Asana.
  • Will be self-motivated, often with time constraints and deadlines.
  • Has intuitive planning and organizational abilities
  • Possesses excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Possess strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Google Suite.
  • Is experienced in project management and team communication tools such as Slack, Asana,, TripleSeat.
  • Is able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public and high-end clientele.
  • Has an innate attention to detail
  • Is a proven and effective multi-tasker
  • Is willing and able to work flexible, sometimes long hours and holidays
  • Possesses strong leadership skills

Hours & Expectations

  • This is a full-time salary position with commission.


  • Flexible schedule
  • Minimum 2.5 days per week at our Manhattan office with the option to work remaining days.
  • This role requires occasional availability on weekdays, weekends, evenings, and occasional holidays as necessary.

Compensation & Benefits

  • This is a full-time salary position with commission.
  • $72,000-82,000 base salary commensurate with experience
